Cleco celebrates Power Plant Employee Appreciation Day

Feb 19, 2025

Cleco is celebrating Power Plant Employee Appreciation Day on February 18 to recognize the hard work of the men and women who power Louisiana.

“Power plant employees are the unsung heroes of the utility business because they work nights, weekends and holidays,” said Bobby Breedlove, chief operations officer at Cleco. “Though their work is away from the public eye, it is the foundation of our business. And these employees play a critical role in keeping the power flowing for our customers and communities.”

Across Louisiana, nearly 300 Cleco employees staff nine generation units at five facilities to keep Cleco’s power plants running safely, reliably and efficiently for the company’s 295,000 customers.

“Our power plant employees do their jobs well. They demonstrated this yet again in January 2025 as unprecedented heavy snow and extreme cold temperatures came to central and south Louisiana,” said Breedlove, “Many of these team members worked long hours and stayed overnight at the plants to ensure that power production never faltered during this historic snow and ice event.”

Cleco thanks its power plant teams not only for their work to prepare and respond during weather events like Winter Storm Enzo, but also for their dedication every single day
