Cleco employees help Northshore Food Bank organize clothes and displays at resale store
Cleco volunteers spent the day organizing clothing and displays at the Northshore Food Bank’s resale store in Covington as part of the company’s Done in a Day program.
Through the Done in a Day program, Cleco employees volunteer with Louisiana nonprofits or other areas of the community in need who request assistance with a project that can be completed in one day or a few hours.
“The Northshore Food Bank is an important part of St. Tammany Parish feeding over 300 individuals and families each week and more than 4,000 individuals a year,” said Brooke Buford, Done in a Day coordinator. “Our employees were excited to help them for the day at their resale store in their mission to provide the community with basic needs like food and clothing.”
“As a smaller nonprofit organization, volunteers are critical to our operational success,” said Yvette Roussel, CEO of Northshore Food Bank. “The Northshore Food Bank has approximately 100 regularly scheduled weekly volunteers. Without them, we would not be able to sustain our daily operations – such as registering clients into our program, sorting donations, and building and distributing food boxes.”
