Cleco employees prepare and serve lunch at St. Joseph Diner
Today, a group of Cleco employees prepared and served lunch at St. Joseph Diner in Lafayette, as part of the company’s Done in a Day program. St. Joseph Diner is a program of Catholic Charities of Acadiana that provides free, freshly cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week to those experiencing hunger.
Through the Done in a Day program, Cleco employees volunteer with Louisiana nonprofits or other areas of the community in need who request assistance with a project that can be completed in one day or a few hours.
Cleco employees prepared and served meal trays, washed dishes and sanitized the kitchen as part of their service work.
“Our employees are always eager to lend a hand to our local nonprofits,” said Brooke Buford, Done in a Day program coordinator at Cleco. “Serving at St. Joseph Diner was a great way to spend the lunch hour with our Acadiana community.”
"Catholic Charities of Acadiana is deeply grateful for the work of volunteers! Volunteers play a critical role in all of our programs expanding our capacity and complementing the skills of our professional staff while bringing hands and hearts of love to those suffering homelessness, hunger, and poverty in our community," said Sarah Baquet, volunteer experience coordinator with Catholic Charities of Acadiana.
