Cleco restores power to nearly 90% of customers impacted by severe weather
Some customers to be without power overnight
4:30 p.m. Update: Cleco continues efforts to restore power to the remaining 4,500 customers who lost power after severe weather moved across the company’s service territory overnight causing approximately 35,000 outages.
“We’ve made significant progress, restoring power to almost 90 percent of the affected customers since this morning,” said Clint Robichaux, Cleco’s Director of Distribution Operations & Reliability. “In addition to Cleco’s personnel, the company has added 310 line mechanics and vegetation specialists to help with power restoration efforts. Our crews will continue restoration efforts into the night, but some customers will be without power overnight due to extensive damage and flooding.”
Below are estimated restoration updates. Unexpected damage or inclement weather could impact estimates. Cleco is asking customers with medical needs and small children who reside in areas where power cannot be restored tonight to make other arrangements.
Allen Parish
Oakdale: Power is expected to be restored to majority of customers within the city limits by tonight.
- Customers south of Walmart will be without power overnight.
- Customers east of Gillis to the west side of Indian Village (Barnes Creek area) will be without power overnight.
- Oberlin: Power is expected to be restored to the majority of customers within the city limits by tonight.
- Customers north of 9th Avenue will be without power overnight.
Kinder: Power is expected to be restored to the majority of customers within the city limits by tonight.
Elizabeth: Power is expected to be restored to 80% of customer by tonight.
Avoyelles Parish
Bunkie: Power is expected to be restored to the majority of customers by tonight.
• Approximately 250 customers in the Grassy Lake area will be without power overnight.
Bordelonville: Power is expected to be restored to the majority of customers by tonight.
Beauregard Parish
DeRidder: Power is expected to be restored to all customers by tonight.
Merryville: Approximately 16 customers south of Merryville will be without power overnight.
Calcasieu Parish
DeQuincy: Power is expected to be restored to all customers by tonight.
DeSoto Parish
Mansfield: Power is expected to be restored to all customers by tonight.
Rapides Parish
Pineville: Power is expected to be restored to all customers by tonight except for a few camps on Muddy Bayou Road.
Sabine Parish
Many: Power is expected to be restored to all customers by tonight.
St. Tammany Parish
• Power is expected to be restored to all customers by tonight in the Slidell and Pearl River areas except for Davis Landing Road where there are approximately 15 residences / camps which may be without power due to high water / flooding.
• These customers are expected to have power restored by tonight:
o Old Town Mandeville – Atalin Street, Jackson Avenue, Albert Street, Colbert Street in between Montgomery Street and Lake Pontchartrain
o Buras Ranch Road area located off of Dove Park Road in Mandeville
o Covington – Jefferson Avenue, Madison Street, Monroe Street, Jahncke Avenue, New Hampshire Street, Vermont Street, America Street in between 20th and 8th Avenues
o Hyacinth Drive area located off Highway 21 in Covington
• There will be some scattered outages in Mandeville and Covington overnight.
Vernon Parish
Leesville: Power is expected to be restored to all customers by tonight.
Washington Parish
• Customers in the areas below will be without power overnight.
o Small group of customers off Highway 16 in Franklinton
o Small group of customers off Highway 38 in Mount Herman
