Cleco partners with Family Justice Center for ‘Done in a Day’
As part of the company’s Done in a Day program, Cleco employees volunteered at the Family Justice Center of Central Louisiana in Pineville.
Cleco’s Done in a Day program furthers the company’s partnerships with charitable organizations across its service territory, as well as provides an opportunity for its employees to get involved in the community. Through the program, Cleco works with non-profit organizations who request assistance with a project that can be completed in one day or a few hours.
Cleco volunteers helped the Family Justice Center complete projects that pull resources away from their mission of providing resources, shelter and other services to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. Employees cleaned and reorganized a storage shed that housed furniture and supplies, and they sorted through clothing donations that were donated to the Family Justice Center patrons.
“We are always humbled to give back to our local non-profits,” said Madeline Ducote, communications representative at Cleco and Done in a Day program coordinator. “We created the Done in a Day program so that vital organization such as the Family Justice Center can focus on what truly matters – their clients.”
“Cleco’s service could not have come at a better time,” said Emma Givens, program manager at the Family Justice Center of Central Louisiana. “It was remarkable to have Cleco’s volunteer group take a load off of us and allow our staff to focus on doing their job serving clients. I hope they all walked away knowing they did significant and purposeful work for the Family Justice Center and the survivors they serve.”
