Cleco wins gold at 40th Annual Telly Awards
PINEVILLE, La. – Cleco received worldwide recognition at the 40th Annual Telly Awards, the world’s largest honor for video and television content.
Cleco was awarded the highest honor, a Gold Telly Award, in the utilities category for its 30-second television commercial, “How is Cleco Connecting Louisiana’s Future?” The commercial highlights how Cleco generates and delivers electricity to power customer lives, as well as features the company’s new 50-megawatt, emission-free generating unit, the St. Mary Clean Energy Center.
“This is Cleco’s first Telly Award and we are honored to have our story recognized on a global stage,” said Jennifer Cahill, manager of Cleco’s corporate communications department. “The commercial is part of our new branding efforts to show our customers how we’re working on and behind the lines to connect them to a better, brighter future.”
Receiving over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents, Telly Award winners represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.
Winners were chosen by the Telly Award Judging Council, a group of leading video and television experts from some of the most prestigious companies in entertainments, publishing, advertising and emerging technology.
Cleco’s award-winning commercial was produced by its creative agency, Captains of Industry, in collaboration with the company’s corporate communications department.
“For nearly a century, Cleco has been powering the good life for Louisianans, working tirelessly on the ground and in the communities they serve,” said Kacy Karlen, Captains of Industry creative director. “With this spot, we were creatively inspired to bring Cleco’s often unseen but masterful connective work to life, to tell a story of impact.
