Cleco presents Willamette Valley Company with energy efficiency award
PINEVILLE, La. –Today, Cleco presented Willamette Valley Company (WVCO) with a check in the amount of $34,182.40 for lighting upgrades made through Cleco’s Power Wise™ energy efficiency program.
WVCO, a manufacturing and distribution company in Pineville, upgraded its interior and exterior lights to LED lighting. With the new LED lighting, WVCO is projected to save 341,824 kWh annually, which is enough electricity to power 28 homes for one year based on an average use of 12,000 kWh a year (1,000 kWh per month).
Cleco’s Power Wise™ program offers financial incentives to customers to offset the cost of making certain energy efficient upgrades to homes and businesses.
“It’s always good news when we can help a customer, especially a large industrial customer, decrease their electricity usage and become more energy efficient,” said Hammad Chaudhry, Cleco’s energy efficiency program manager. “Lighting retrofit projects like this one produce brighter, longer lasting lights, reduce energy consumption, lower maintenance costs and can even have a positive impact on employee productivity.”
“We thank Cleco for helping us implement the new LED lighting and incorporating more efficient technology in our daily operations,” said Tim Delaney, operations manager for WVCO. “We are very pleased with the results, and we’re looking forward to the energy savings.”
