Pineville, La. (3 p.m.) – Cleco has restored power to nearly 70 percent of customers who experienced power outages following this morning’s severe storms in its central Louisiana service territory.

“We appreciate our customers’ patience as our crews work quickly and safely to restore power,” said James Lass, general manager of distribution operations and emergency management. 

At 3 p.m., Cleco had 6,139 customers without power.

Cleco warns that downed power lines can be energized and dangerous. Stay away from all power lines and do not attempt to move an object that is touching a downed line. Call 911 and Cleco at 1-800-622-6537 to report a dangerous situation involving electricity.
