Cleco charitable golf tournament benefits Louisiana Lions Camp
PINEVILLE, La. – Today, Cleco hosted its charitable golf tournament, Tee Off for a Cause, at OakWing Golf Club in Alexandria.
The tournament, in its fourth year, benefits Louisiana Lions Camp, a free, summer camp for youth with special needs, diabetes and pulmonary disorders.
“Cleco is proud to partner with Louisiana Lions Camp to support children with special needs and help provide them with a unique, summer camp experience,” said Bill Fontenot, Cleco president and CEO. “Cleco is committed to supporting the communities where we live, work and serve, and this is just another example of our commitment.”
“Lions Clubs across Louisiana are grateful to Cleco for supporting the Lions Camp,” said Bob Hollingsworth, Alexandria Lions Club member and Louisiana Lions Children’s Camp executive board member. “These monies will be used to make significant improvements to the cooling system of the Lions Camp’s multipurpose building which is used by all of our special needs campers.”
Cleco welcomed approximately 150 golfers and 100 sponsors from across Louisiana and eight other states.
“We are thankful to our sponsors and golfers for making this tournament a success year after year,” said Leisha Hines, Cleco senior insurance and claims specialist and chair of the golf tournament. “We expect to raise over $50,000 for Louisiana Lions Camp.”
“Thanks again to Cleco, its employees and all of those supporting this great golf tournament,” said Hollingsworth.
