PINEVILLE, La. – Cleco awarded Walker Automotive’s Toyota and Chrysler dealerships a total of $20,135.40 in cash incentives for lighting upgrades made through the utility’s energy efficiency program.

Walker Automotive upgraded over 50 exterior lights to LED throughout the two facilities’ parking areas and car lots. The projected energy savings of the projects total 201,354 kWh, which is enough energy to power more than 280 refrigerators for one year, assuming annual energy consumption of 700 kWh for a refrigerator.

Cleco’s commercial energy efficiency program provides financial incentives to offset the cost of lighting and HVAC replacements for large and small business.

“This project is an example of Cleco’s commitment to our customers,” said Hammad Chaudhry, Cleco’s energy efficiency program manager. “Our goal is to partner with our customers to help them manage their energy use and become more efficient. As we help our business customers become more efficient, we are playing a small role in helping our communities retain business and jobs.”

In addition to Cleco’s commercial program, the utility offers a program for its residential customers that address ceiling insulation, air leaks and duct sealing, among other program offerings.
