Cleco awards Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce $10,000
PINEVILLE, La. – Today, Cleco awarded the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce $10,000 for its Fire Starter Project which provides learning experiences in leadership, communication skills, team building and networking to 20 Iberia Parish high school juniors.
“Cleco’s contribution assures that every Iberia Parish high school can send participants to the program and that there are no financial constraints,” said Bill Fontenot, interim CEO of Cleco Power.
“Additionally, with a $10,000 donation from Cleco, we want to enhance the activities that we are able to offer,” said Janet Faulk-Gonzales, president and CEO of the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce. “For example, we can add the experience of having the students work through a day-long simulated society exercise, SIMSOC, which has life changing impact on participants.”
“Cleco has a long history of philanthropic involvement in the communities we serve,” said Fontenot. “We are proud a proud supporter of the Iberia Chamber of Commerce.”
