Cleco restores power to 80 percent of customers
Pineville, La. – As of 4:30 p.m., Cleco had restored power to roughly 80 percent of customers following a wintry mix of ice and snow that disrupted power to over 16,000 customers across its service territory.
“Unless road conditions become unsafe, Cleco crews will continue to work through the night to restore power to our customers,” said James Lass, manager of distribution operations and emergency management. “Our hope is to have power restored to all customers tonight, but there is a chance that dropping temperatures could cause wet roads to freeze making them unsafe and impassable leaving some customers in St. Tammany and Washington parishes without power through the night.”

“We ask that our customers with medical needs and small children make arrangements for tonight in the event we are unable to restore power to all customers,” said Lass.
Cleco thanks its customers for their patience and reminds them to be aware of possible downed lines. Stay away from low-hanging or downed lines. Call Cleco or 911 to report an unsafe situation with electricity.
