Cleco Power Winter Storm Update – 7 p.m. (final for 2-4-11)

PINEVILLE, La. – Customers in several areas in central Louisiana will be without power through the night, but Cleco hopes to restore power to the bulk of its customers by Saturday evening.

Customers in the following areas without power after 10 p.m. will not have power restored this evening:  Dry Prong, Colfax, Pollock, Flatwoods, Rigolette, Kincaid Lake and Pineville.  Cleco will have some crews working through the night to handle emergency calls.

“We appreciate the patience of our customers,” said Anthony Bunting, vice president of customer service and energy delivery.

Additional workers are arriving in the central Louisiana area tonight to address outages from earlier today and the new outages that are continuing as a result of the winter storm.

As of 7 p.m. there are 12,166 Cleco Power customers without power.  Customers should report sagging or downed lines to Cleco at 1-800-622-6537.

Current power outages (largest concentration of outages in parentheses):

Grant Parish:

3,099 (Bentley, Pollock, Dry Prong, Colfax)

Rapides Parish:

8,863 (Parishwide)

Avoyelles Parish:
