Cleco continues restoration efforts

Lineman Restoring Power
Sep 5, 2021

79 percent of customers are with power

PINEVILLE, La. – Sept. 5, 2021 (10:30 a.m.) – Cleco continues to follow its power restoration process in St. Tammany and Washington parishes where 79 percent of customers’ power has been restored.

Power restoration follows a detailed process, and safety always is the top priority. After damage assessments are complete, power is restored to essential services and facilities critical to public health and safety. Crews then work to return service to the largest number of residential and business customers in the shortest amount of time. Once major repairs are completed, individual homes and smaller groups of customers are restored.

While customers may not see Cleco personnel in their neighborhoods, the energy grid is heavily interconnected, and crews are working throughout the system to bring power back on quickly and safely.

“We understand the challenges that being without electricity can bring.  We ask for, and appreciate, our customers’ patience and understanding during these challenging times,” said Clint Robichaux, manager of distribution operations support.  “We also thank the dedicated men and women who are working on and behind the lines to restore power to impacted customers and communities.”
