Cleco has six offices in St. Tammany Parish, known as the “Northshore” which can be reached from New Orleans by traveling across Lake Ponchartrain on the Causeway Bridge, the world's longest bridge over a body of water. The Northshore (Covington, Mandeville, Abita Springs, Folsom, Madisonville) has the same rich culture – music, food and history – as New Orleans.
New Orleans, also called the “Big Easy,” is best known for its cuisine, culture, arts and architecture. While most tourists are interested in the world famous French Quarter and Mardi Gras parades, there’s so much more to this great city.
New Orleans has top-rated universities and colleges, including Tulane, University, Loyola and Xavier, and the state’s flagship, nationally recognized Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge is about an hour’s drive. You can dine at award-winning restaurants that offer every type of cuisine. New Orleans is home to the New Orleans Saints professional football team. Chants of "Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?" can be heard throughout the city on game day. There’s also the professional basketball team, the New Orleans Pelicans, named after the state bird – the brown pelican.
