NWS confirms three tornados moved across central Louisiana
PINEVILLE, La. – The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed tornadic activity across Louisiana, including three tornados in Rapides Parish of which one continued into Grant Parish, late night on Oct. 31 and into the early morning hours of Nov. 1.
“Our crews are working safely and efficiently to tackle the damage left behind by the tornados and strong winds that moved across central Louisiana,” said James Lass, general manager of distribution operations and emergency management. “We have all available crews on hand, clearing and cleaning debris, as well as replacing broken poles, cross arms and downed wire.”
As of 10:30 a.m., Cleco had 2,751 central Louisiana customers without power as a result of the storms.

“Cleco and our contractor crews have covered a lot of ground since the storms moved through the area,” said Lass. “We thank them for their dedication, working late nights and early mornings to restore power to our customers.”
