FAQs About Cleco's Hiring Process

  • How do I apply for a position at Cleco?

    To apply for any of our open positions, you need to complete an online application and create an account on our Workday job applicant system. Initially, you will be asked to create a Workday account to access the application form. Once you submit your account details, you will receive a confirmation email. Once you confirm your account, you will see an "Account Activated" message on your sign-in page. After creating the account and setting a password, you can store your information, so you won't have to re-enter your details if you apply for future positions. Additionally, you can verify the progress of your application by logging into your account at any time.

  • Can I apply at any time?

    No. Cleco only accepts online applications for open positions. Cleco’s job application is available online only through its Workday job applicant system. If you submit a resume, it must be attached to a completed online application. Your online application is good only for the open position at that time. You must complete an online application for every job you wish to apply for. Cleco does not keep paper applications nor resumes on file.
  • Am I required to submit a resume?

    No, a resume is not required. If you submit a resume, it must be attached to a completed online application.
  • What is Cleco’s recruiting/hiring process?

    Cleco announces new job opportunities through its Workday job applicant system. Interested candidates need to fill out an online application form to apply for an open position. The applicants will be evaluated to ensure that they meet the position's criteria. Applicants must meet the position's criteria to proceed through the recruitment process. In cases where the job requires pre-employment testing, practice tests are available for the candidates. Upon selection, candidates will undergo pre-employment screenings, including a background check, drug screen, and physical examination, per the job requirement. Applicants who are not selected for the position will be informed about their status.

  • How will I know you received my application?

    After you complete your online application, you should receive an email stating your application has been received. You also will be asked to create an online account in the Workday job applicant system if you have not already created an account.
  • How can I find out about future job openings?

    Visit cleco.com, then go to Careers and click on Apply to access the Workday job applicant system.
  • Does Cleco have pre-employment testing?
