Customer Fees and Charges
Connection charge This fee partially covers the cost of making service available. During regular working hours - $25.00 After hours - $60.00 Reconnection charge If your power is disconnected for nonpayment, you will be required to pay your bill plus a reconnect charge before your power can be turned back on. During regular working hours - $30.00 After hours - $65.00 Late payment charge If your bill is not paid by the due date, an additional amount will be due. The charge is 5 percent for the first $1,000 and 2 percent on any amount over $1,000. The total amount is shown on your bill as "Amount Due After." NSF check charge A fee is charged for handling and collecting returned checks. NSF - $25.00 or 5% of the face value of the original check, whichever is greater Verification of meter reading A fee is assessed for the second or more customer-requested meter read verification. A fee is not assessed for the first customer-requested meter read verification during a calendar year. Meter read verification - $12.00 Meter test charge A fee is assessed for the second or more customer-requested meter test during the calendar year. A fee is not assessed for the first customer-requested meter read test during the calendar year. Meter test - $20.00 Meter re-seal charge A service charge is assessed to re-seal a meter seal cut by the customer. Meter re-seal - $20.00 Meter tampering charges Fees are assessed for electricity diversion or meter tampering. This is to offset the cost associated with investigating and rebilling the tampered account. First tampering offense - $100.00 Second tampering offense - $200.00 Third tampering offense - $500.00 Customer problem charge This is the fee to dispatch a truck and technician to investigate an electrical problem that turns out to be on the customer’s side of the meter. During regular working hours - $25.00 After hours - $50.00
